    About Lawnsgate

You will receive a very warm welcome from Aidan, Ella and Nina their 3 dogs, Maddy the Labrador, Pip the Spinger Spaniel and Lil the Sproodle. Needless to say, therefore, the campsite is dog-friendly, with a dog friendly pub in the nearby village of Lealholm.

There is nothing rushed about Lawnsgate Farm. Many of the farm buildings date back to the seventeenth century. Aidan and Ella have lived in Lealholm all their lives and Aidan farms Lawnsgate in partnership with his father on the neighbouring farm, Wild Slack.

This tranquil site is surrounded by the beautiful North York Moors National Park and we have made every effort to run the site in harmony with these surroundings. There are fabulous panoramic views over the wonderful, expansive moorlands and valleys of the Esk.

The Foord family have farmed here for four generations, Wild Slack being acquired by Aidan’s great grandfather in the 1930’s. More than 70 years later, the farm now hosts a commercial Charolais cross herd as well as a hardy herd of Galloways. We also have a small number of Scottish Blackface sheep and lambs, 2 pigs (and piglets!) and a menagerie of geese, ducks and hens!
